Angela came away with a squat of 107.5 kg, bench of 62.5 kg and a deadlift of 152.5 kg. With these lifts her total was 322.5 kg; up a whopping 30 kg with PBs in both squat and deadlift. Angela managed all of this while suffering from a shoulder injury. She also didn't finishing her deadlifts until 2:30 am! It is hard to lift that late into the night and improve so much. Well done Angela!
Clair performed well under pressure (there was some bad sportsman like behaviour she had to deal with before her squat) to achieved a squat of 80 kg, bench of 45 kg and a deadlift of 115 kg; competition PBs in both the squat and deadlift. She came away with a Commonwealth bronze medal for squat, bench, deadlift and her total! She also got a silver medal for her total in Oceania. Oh, and not to mention a total PB of 5 kg. Well done Clair!
What to say about Liz.... Well, this competition saw Liz get a squat of 122.5 kg (Commonwealth/Oceania/Australian Record), bench press of 75 kg (Commonwealth/Oceania/Australian Record) and a deadlift of 137.5 kg. This gave her a total of 335 kg (Commonwealth/Oceania/Australian Record), which was enough to get her the best unequipped open female and overall female lifter for the competition. She is now the number 1 ranked female lifter in Australia and 23 in the world!!! Well done Liz!
