Who we are
We are a powerlifting
Liz has always been active. She enjoyed ice skating, surfing, roller blading, snowboarding and cross country running in her formative years. After years of being unhappy in her previous profession, she took her passion for fitness to the next level and became a personal trainer.
Since joining the fitness industry in 2007 Liz has worked as a personal trainer in several different environments, including large commercial gyms, CrossFit affiliates and outdoor bootcamps. She has also trained a wide range of people with varying goals; from the serious athlete to the office worker carrying a little too much excess baggage.
Liz has also been a competitive athlete over the past few years. She competed in the CrossFit Games 2010 reaching the Australian/New Zealand Regionals. She was unable to complete in the 2011 and 2012 seasons of the CrossFit Games, as she was either pregnant or in postnatal recovery. She also currently holds 6 records in the ACT for Olympic Weightlifting, which she set in May 2012.
Liz is currently the number 1 female raw Powerlifter in Australia, 23rd in the World. She holds the Commonwealth, Oceania and National records for Squat (122.5kg) Bench(75kg) and Total (335kg) in the 52kg weightclass.
She has been chosen for the Australian Team for the Oceania Championships 2012, World Championships in Suzdal, Russia 2013 and Commonwealth Championships in Auckland NZ 2013.
Liz and Leon run a Powerlifting group under Build Strength & Conditioning. Together they have coached many lifters up to competition and Nationals. They are just as happy to coach people to get stronger , healthier and happier. :)
